Let’s be honest, wanting to make it “perfect” is most likely an excuse not to finish your work. Think about this: Have you ever created a perfect course for one semester, and never had the need to revise it or make changes in the next few years when you teach the same course? I bet you the answer is no. There are always updates & changes to make, always some mistakes to correct. Just as the famous writer Margaret Atwood said, “If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word.”
How do you know whether your course is the right one? What will happen if you spend lots of time & energy creating a course only to find out it’s not selling? The best solution is selling it before you get everything ready. Your course doesn't need to be near perfect. You don’t have to have a beautiful design for each document. You don’t need to finish the full content you plan to include. You learn from what you do. You will get better ideas on what you should include in your course through actual teaching & selling.
If you are like me, you are so used to the old habits and routine. Trying to plan for every detail and getting everything in place is almost always unproductive. But think about how many months or years you have already spent on thinking of starting an online course. You don’t have to complete every lesson for every module, as you can build the modules while teaching. As you are teaching and building up your course, you will have plenty of opportunities to make it better along the way. By starting before you are fully ready, you can push yourself into action toward success!
