Hi, this is Dr. Echo.

In my last video I talked about why you can sell courses online as an educator. I mentioned 3 reasons: (1) the credit of your expertise, (2) the unique value of your course, and (3) the transformation of your life and your students’ lives.

Today I am going to talk about the next step – how to determine whether or not people are going to buy your course. Here are 3 signs showing that people want to buy your course.

#1 Trust

Let’s say that you are looking to buy a new car. Whose recommendation would you trust more - your best friend’s, or a car dealer’s? The answer is obvious, as you will trust your friend’s recommendation more.

It is critical to build trust with your audience. Your expertise and the value in your course may not be enough. Your audience needs to trust you and know that your advice is real and actually useful. They will only pay you when they can see that you have their best interests at heart, that you are not just another Internet guru spewing nonsense advice.

#2 A Clear End Goal

A course overview accompanying a step-by-step demonstration with a clear end goal is essential for people to take the next step in buying your course. For example, if you teach people how to make stir fry, you would discuss basic ingredients, cookware, techniques, followed by demos of easy-to-follow actions. If your audience can see the entire process of them achieving their dream goals, they will buy your course.

It is your responsibility to make the learning process easy, hands-on, and enjoyable. Your step-by-step instruction should also show some common obstacles and difficulties they may encounter, and how to overcome and resolve the issues. Make your course clear and straightforward to ensure your students’ success.

#3 The Desire for Change

Change can be scary and many people are averse to change. Your audience may know what they want but may be afraid of taking the first step. They are too afraid of failure. For them, the problem is that they do not yet have a strong motivation, a desire for change, which is essential for taking action to learn something new.

When you pitch your course, you need to motivate your audience. Show them the end results and inspire them to follow your path. Show them the great impact they can make, and the ideal income they can earn. Show them how wonderful their lives can be with the change.
